STOP VIOLENCE AGAINST CHILDREN
THE CHILDREN HAVE RIGHTS TOO
AUTHORITIES SHOULD DECIDE AND DECLINE OF VIOLENCE AGAINST CHILDREN
In recent days have come to light, thanks to the complaint of citizens and the media communication, various acts of violence committed against children who are unjustifiable. Faced with this worrying situation, Save the Children strongly expressed their rejection of all forms of violence suffered daily girls and boys in the country.

Complaints sexually exploited teens, a child brutally beaten for having scratched a car - who fortunately overcame the possible loss of an eye - a teenager beaten by police for allegedly stealing an electronic device and a teacher who almost started a student's ear are some of the most outrageous.
Another unacceptable fact is that of a child who became a paraplegic after a brutal beating from one of his schoolmates. This complex case of bullying - peer violence or bullying - reveals the context of violence in which they live both the victim and the offender, who must receive psychological help to overcome the problem.
Kneipp Have you acted the police and the prosecution with due diligence? Have you taken the appropriate corrective action, punishing those responsible for the attacks? Boys and girls have human rights too and can not be treated without any respect.
We draw attention on a kind of violence that occurs daily and in all areas: physical and humiliating punishment. The punishment is a form of violence against children and adolescents, and therefore constitutes a violation of their right to physical and psychological integrity and dignity as human beings.
According to the Study of Violence of the United Nations, 98% of children suffer physical and humiliating punishment, and in most cases, these abuses are hidden both in the family, school and community.
Save the Children, as an institution that works the promotion of the rights of children, calls on the authorities who should take urgent steps to ensure such cases do not recur. The penalty for abusers, and public officials involved should be part of a clear message to the people that do not accept any form of violence against children.
We appeal also to expedite the approval process for amendments to the Code for Children and Adolescents that will prohibit all forms of physical and humiliating punishment as a method of correction.
